In Turkey, the average real estate worth is steadily going up. In the future, if there were a shortage of housing, the market would be hit the bottom because of falling prices and frustrated investors.

Are smartphones extremely necessary

“Did you see my latest Instagram post. I had eaten an excellent tasty spaghetti dishes at a restaurant and I took a photo and shared it up immediately.”

A lot of people use smartphones just to take photos and share them on their social media pages.

I have four websites.

* yakusha.net is my personal blog.

* yerlioyun.com is my article forum. I back-up my some articles on it.

* kitaphaber.com.tr is my book criticize platform. It has 2400 published articles by 60 different author.

* turkdefence.com is my defence news blog.

I used to have some websites and magazines.

* Yoldusleri was my Turkish Literature magazine. It had published 6 issue in three years.

* yoldusleri.com was our forum and we were discussing about our works (poems, trials, articles, short stories etc)

* acikkaynaktv.com was my open source program download website. I carry on it more than three years.

* linuxhaber.com was my twitter inspired website. I used to publish Linux news on it.

After all, I used to create an open source forum software (Yakusha/YakushaBB/Yakusha Bulletin Board) and it was used by more than 300 websites.

I wrote/created many different websites and some of them are still active and more than 100.000 people use my creations every day.

Why did I say all of this? Do I just want to show off my skills to you? No, I just want to describe my Internet experience.

Of course, I have a Facebook account. However, I used to have 4900 Facebook friends and I deleted 4300 of them! I have still 600 friends on it and every person is my face to face friend. It means, we meet sometimes and somewhere face to face.

Of course, I have Twitter and Instagram accounts. But, I can delete my post anytime. They have no meaning in my life.

In short, social media is a secondary, unnecessary thing after smarts phones in human life.

Technology

Fire was the first invention by humans but it wasn’t the last.

Paper, gunpowder, supercomputers are still affecting our lives. Are we ready to transfer our mind/consciousness to our younger clones?

Most companies are using robots or serial product lines to produce things faster, however, humans can’t work faster than robots. So, they buy more robots for works. Are people losing their works or is technology a kind of natural selection?

Before the digital phone, people used analogical phones and many people had been working for phone companies.

In short, technology will always be developed, but humanity and rich countries should learn to share new technologies with poor countries.

Amish Life vs Modern Life

If I spent one month living with the Amish, it would be the craziest things I’d do. Also, If I were an Amish teenager I would escape from plain Amish life to modern and mainstream life.

In the past, I used to live with my grandparents in the highland. In fact, they were living as self-sufficient as the Amish people and they were close-knit with their sibling and families. They had sheep, lambs, cows, horses etc. They haven’t got electricity and modern equipment but they manage it. They didn’t escape from modern life inventions they just run their plain life on their lands. It is unlikely that they lived a very different life from our lives.

Maybe Amish life can portray how our grandparents lived and survived in the 19^th century before our life was taken for granted with modern medicines.

If I didn’t like interfering with, like with a phone call at midnight, I could turn it off. But I can’t draw back my life as a caveman.

Maybe one day someone might write a story about two people: someone suffers from drug addiction and escapes to an Amish village to get a new cleaner life and another one, born in an Amish village escapes to California to be a traveller.

İf you like a really simple life, you don’t need to be Amish. For example, if you visit Africa, you can see a lot of people poorer than an Amish person.

İf I were an Amish person, I would fight to open high schools and universities. In my opinion, education is obviously more important than being self-sufficient agriculture and farming.

Turkish Superstitions

Every country has similar and different superstitions. Some superstitions depend on religion while some of them depend on culture.

Two centuries ago, most people were going to local healers to get treatment. In some cases, local healers used to help people to get better physically (ankle sprain, broken leg etc.) but they couldn’t help people with mental/psychological problems. So, people used to go local priests/monks/hodjas/swamis to get a cure for incurable diseases.

I would like to inform you about Turkish Superstitions.

* In some villages, big trees have been planted. Mostly single girls tie some clothes (rag/strings) to get good luck and a good husband/wife. It’s quite a lot similar to wish fountains.

* Some countries locations/landmarks for lovers. Namsan Tower in Korea, Love Monument in Malta etc. It’s obviously a kind of modern superstition.

* Some people still throw money at holy tombs to get the best success.

* Most of the Turkish people believe in Nazar/evil eye/whammy. If someone looks at items or people with admiration, it could be a break or people could get a terrible and unexpected sickness. Because of that, Some Turkish people add evil eye at their home entrance. This is a cultural practice but Muslim people read and pray some spacial Quranic/Arabic paragraphs (Sura-i Felak, Sura-i Nas etc) to cure evil eye and avoid bad/dark magic.

* Yıldızname is a kind of Turkish Horoscope but I don’t have enough information about it. I think it could be a bit similar to the Western horoscope but fully different from the Chinese and Indian horoscopes.

* Turkish old people (like my mother or my grandmother) believe that cutting nails at night, can bring you bad luck. Some Turkish people believe that is a kind of small sin or inappropriate.

* I don’t know but I read on the internet; if a pregnant person eats sour things she will give birth to a daughter; if she eats sweets she will give birth a boy. Actually, it is a very common belief in my country.

* If you whistle at night, Seytan / the devil / a bunch of devils will follow you. It obviously meant really terrible luck.

* Muska is mostly a triangle shape necklace but some Quranic/Arabic paragraphs can be found inside them. I saw very different versions. In some cases, they can store unreadable shamanic words. People use it to get good luck or ovoid from evils, devils, elves, goblins, bad spirits and satan.

* Some people believe and still practice burying newborn umbilical cords in some special areas. For example, if you buried it in a school garden, he/she will be a genius; if you buried it in a hospital garden he/she will be a good doctor; if you buried it in a mosque garden, he/she will be a good child.

* Palm fortune reading is not very common in Turkey but gypsies always practice it to make money. I think palm fortune reading could come from Gypsy culture but it affects many cultures.

* Turkish coffee fortune telling is very common in Turkey. After drinking a Turkish coffee people turn over the mug for a while then look inside the mug and try to interpret things.

I think, some practices are not superstition but depend on religion.

* In Turkey, if your business was turned down, you can go to a hodja to get a prayer for you.

* The Muslims believe in a single God/Allah and God/Allah recommends giving charity to poor people. Muslims help and distribute food for to get good luck from God/Allah.

Wise

You can get older but can you get wiser?

We were going to get divorced a year ago and I don’t want to struggle myself again.

Today, I got up at 8 a.m. and  5 minutes later, I got into an argument with my wife. Unfortunately, I said some silly speeches and everything gets out of my hand. So, I get myself into a bad situation. We were arguing about to get a new car. Finally, I got she’s point across. I gave car keys to her and I get to work by bus.

So, I will get a new car for myself.

Dream Diary

After I woke up, I put out my hand to turn down the light. I got up and hold my diary between my hand. I turned over a page and wrote down my dream. I laid out papers on the table to check again.
